Ensures the caf is clean and well-presented at all times.
Plans for menu items, displays current menu and offerings.
Plans for and advertises for specials.
Takes orders, prepares and serves food following while adhering to all safety and health standards and work as short order cook.
Operates kitchen equipment including convection oven panini press, coffee maker and other small kitchen wares.
Processes payments using the caf 's point of sale system.
Handles and processes catering orders Ensures the caf expenses are within budget and ways of decreasing operational costs are identified.
Washes dishes, cleans tables, chairs, and booth seating.
Sweeps and mops caf .
Cleans sinks and counters, caf refrigerator, freezers, coolers, and heating and cooling equipment.
Takes inventory and orders food and supplies.
Checks in and puts away orders and deliveries into storeroom and stocks caf spaces with goods.
Achieves excellent customer service and identifies strategies to retain and attract customers.
Performs duties in the main facility kitchen to support all dining operations as directed by the Director of Dining services.
Able to perform duties associate with cook and Dining Assistant as needed.
Works in a safe manner to prevent harm to self, other personnel, and equipment.
Actively participates in facility departmental in-service training, online training, and other training as requested or required by your supervisor.
Performs other varied duties/responsibilities as per facility need and as directed.
May be required to work occasional weekends or holidays.
Qualifications The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
One or more years of experience in restaurant or caf in a manager or coordinator position.
Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to carry out assigned duties within the parameters and time constraints established for the job.
Ability to understand and comply with federal, state and facility health care and safety regulatory guidelines.
