The Emerging Technology Architect oversees the execution of emerging technology exploratory projects. Monitors the process of moving technologies through ideation, evaluation, POC, testing & validation, and transfer to the shelf or into an implementation project. Working with IT Business Partners and Enterprise Architecture, this person will help recommend opportunities that could add business value by leveraging emerging technologies.

This role requires a hands-on, proactive individual who has a natural affinity for new technologies and discovery while also communicating in business terms the potential impact of new technologies. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently and in leading a team of external resources to build prototypes and translate the results into business impact statements.

Key Responsibilities
Seeks to understand the strategic direction of Sargento, its departments/teams, and where emerging technologies may be able to help
Recommends technologies that enhance our capabilities
Incorporates and shares case studies, inspirational ideas, and outside influence
Leads emerging technology Proof of Values (PoVs) and Proof of Concepts (POCs) exploratory projects
Conducts technology experimentation and feasibility analysis
Develops partnerships with market leaders and educators for discovery
Recommends (does not solicit for) investments
Helps inspire a culture of technology innovation
Communicates and educates on the emerging technology processes
Mentors others on how to innovate within their role
Co-facilitates innovation challenges
Maintains a collaborative place for sharing ideas, tools, and methods

Typical Education/Certificates/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant degree.
5+ years of relevant experience in systems development, integration, security, business analysis roles
Broad knowledge or exposure to hardware, software, application, and system engineering concepts with demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies, architectures, and concepts
Experience managing a project budget and timeline using agile methodologies
MBA/MA desired
Experience leading or in a significant technical leadership role in a complex technical project
Demonstrated ability to execute business impact, financial analysis such as NPV and ROI
Experience in custom software development highly desirable
Experience with start-ups / incubators is a plus

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
